I am in South Carolina now from Mississippi doing research on Turner, Waugh, Kennedy, McAlister, Adger, Young (Yongue). These are the families that I came to research but I have also connected the McCrorey, Martin, Brice, Boyce, Bouleware, Douglass (Douglas), and Mobley families all from Fairfield County and surrounding area. I spent four days in the Dept of Archives and History in Columbia and then went to Winnsboro and using information from their Genealogy Room I have searched cemeteries in Fairfield County. Have found a good bit of information connecting the families mentioned but cannot locate much on the Waughs. My great-greatgrandfather was John Waugh Turner, his mother Margaret Waugh. I believe her father was John Waugh and his father was Samuel. John and Samuel were born in Ireland (I think). Thank you for any information you might have and are willing to share.

In 1920 they are in Richmond VA with daughter Mary age 30. In 1880 Thomas E Waugh 16 is with his parents Andrew B and Sarah S in Manchester VA. Fidelia C Davis 26 MI is also in Manchester VA with her parents Charles Davis 66 England retired and Elizabeth 67 NY. Odder yet, concerning her age, in 1870 she is age 24 with Charles and Elizabeth (Canada) in St Clair MI. She is therefore probably Catherine age 3 with Charles and Elizabeth in St Clair MI in 1850.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZYVBAEB/450 Message Board Post: While sorting through old family photos I have come across a photo taken in the early 20th century of a woman. On the back is an obit reading: Mrs. Fidelia D. Waugh Funeral services for Mrs. Fidelia D. Waugh, widow of Thomas Emmett Waugh, who died today at her home, 4116 Springhill Ave., will be held at 10 A.M. Friday at Morrissett's Funeral Home with interment following in Lynchburg. Mrs. Waugh was a granddaughter of William Charles Davis who was a nephew of the late George Davis, Bishop of Canterbury, England. In the maternal line she was a granddaughter of Emma Elizabeth O'Riley, a daughter of Captain Michael O'Riley, of the Revolutionary army. She was also a great-grandaughter of Cordelia Clinton, a sister of General Clinton. Mrs. Waugh is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C.M. Bell, of Jacksonville, Fl., and Miss Mary Waugh, of Richmond; one son, Thomas E. Waugh, Jr., of Baltimore, Md.; also by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone? I have Davis' in the family line and I can place them in Virginia the later half of the 19th century, but I can't come up with Fidelia on a Davis Census.. . . . . . I am obviously doing something wrong. Ann Dewey
