    1. [WAUGH] William Richard WAUGH 1764
    2. William Richard WAUGH believed born in Ratcliff area (now called Tower Hamlets) married Martha CROXON in St.Dunstans Stepney 1794. On the Church record it was stated that both William and Martha were from Ratcliff. I have been told that there are no Church records for Ratcliff as the Church was burned down at about the time of their marriage, probably why they went to Stepney to be married. Does anyone know of any surviving Church records for Ratcliff? Children of William and Martha; James b1795, Ann b1802, William Richard b 1804, Martha Ann b 1808. Anyone else researching this family? Daphne in Oz!

I have several books stored away in the basement authored by him. There is also a lengthy biography of his brother, Vardis Fisher, who was a renowned Idaho author and there is frequent mention of Vivian in that book. My father was Vernon Ezra Fisher. He was born on February 22, 1929 in New York. Hope that helps. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My Uncle, Morgan S Waugh (your first cousin), is interested in contacting you directly. I am forwarding him your message. Morgan and his wife, plus me and my son and my sister and her family went to the Waugh Family reunion in Orange, VA this past June. We met several extended family members and took a side tour of the family home where Napoleon Bonaparte Waugh (your great-grandfather) would have been born. His father, Charles S. Waugh, is buried in the family cemetery on the property. The property is still in family hands and occupied. I hope you don't mind but I am attaching a photo from about 40 years ago. I've labeled the family members including your grandmother Mattie Fisher, although I think she was married to Ed Jones by this time. My brother and sister and I are at the very bottom with my mother (your cousin) Mary Helen Waugh Knapp and her brother, Morgan S. Waugh. Your uncle, Morgan R Waugh, is at the far left with only his leg showing. My mother died in 1966 from colon cancer. I still need to track down info Aunt Nell's two husbands. I don't think she had children, but I could be wrong. At any rate, I don't have her married name(s). I am so excited to find I have second cousins I never knew about and would love to learn more. My grandfather was Vivian Fisher and he was a psychologist, married to Mattie. Their son, my father, was Vernon Fisher, who was also a psychologist. Unfortunately, Vivian died before I was born, and my father, an only child passed away unexpectedly about 15 years ago, when he was only 62. I did indeed know Ed Jones, or Grandpa Jones as we called him. Following Mattie's death, he actually relocated here to Nebraska, until his passing. Unfortunately, I don't know many beyond my father's immediate family, all of whom are now gone. I am totally new to tracing family histories but would welcome any and all information/direction you can provide. Look foward to hearing from you. Thanks again! This is my husband's line and it has been in the last year that I have been able to trace it for him. He will be thrilled about this step. The sons of Amos came as far west as South Dakota and then when Albeta was offering land in northern Alberta for cheap they came north and homesteaded. We have the homestead records. There is a town of Waugh named after my husband's gt.grandfather. Thank you again for your information....Patty Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. AMos appears in the 1840 census in Mercer Co Pa and then in 1850 and 1860 is in nearby Pulaski , Laurence Co Pa. The earliest Waugh in the area appears to be James who had a land patent about 1798. Amos and his (brother?) William had a store. Author: becky_applegate Surnames: Classification: biography Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.waugh/339.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Plattsmouth Journal, Thursday, January 13, 1915 Plattsmouth, Cass County, Nebraska A FORMER PLATTSMOUTH BOY ELECTED CORNHUSKER COACH >From Wednesday's Daily In speaking of Sam WAUGH, a former Plattsmouth young man, who has been very prominent in the athletic work at the state university, the Lincoln News gives the following statement of his advancement in his selection as basket ball coach of the state university. Mr. Waugh is very popular in Lincoln, as well as in this city, and his selection to the position will be very pleasing to his friends in this city. It is expected that he will be here Friday eve to referee the basket ball game between the Plattsmouth and Council Bluffs High school teams: "Waugh is widely known as a basket ball and foot ball official and until lately was as well known as a basket ball player. Besides his High school experience, he worked a number of seasons with the Y.M.C.A. squad when it was steam rolling everything in the neighborhood and a few outside teams. Work kept him from making the Cornhusker team, but he played with the freshmen there. "Members of the team know his ability and they are perfectly satisfied with the choice of the athletic board. Sam was an admirer of Stehm's basket ball ability and for that reason the team may get along without too much of a break in their playing methods. "Waugh expected to work out with the team Tuesday afternoon, being anxious to get as early a start as possible for the Kansas game of Friday. The salary to be paid was not made public."
