Hugh Watt was born in 1789 in Rockingham Co, NC, and died in 1845 in Muscogee Co., GA. He had at least 10 children from 2 (or maybe 3) marriages. I have a copy of his will naming 10 children. Thomas Jefferson (my ancestor was born about 1835 and Benjamin Franklin, the youngest child in about 1837. My great grandmother was Sarah G. Watt, born about 1862 and died somewhere around 1890 - according to oral history. I have not been successful in finding any information about her after her marriage in Columbus, GA, on Dec. 9, 1880 to Joseph Howard Hampton. Thomas Jefferson Watt's wife, Sarah Jane Kimbrough, was born Aug. 29, 1832. She was the daughter of William B. and Margaret Ann Nutt Kimbrough. My grandfather was born in 1885 in Athens, GA, but after Sarah's death was raised by her brother, Thomas Thaddeus Watt. My grandfather ran away at the age of 14, was able to find work and support himself and never went back This is the one line of our family on which I have been able to find very little.
