Hi Barbara. Can't give a specific answer but I have a couple of tin types from my grandmothers photo album from 1906. One was of her father which I would think was taken late 1800s to beginning of 1900s. You might get an answer from a store that sells photographic supplies, or your local library. Gordon A.
