Hi, This Watts family was found in Butler Co., OH. They migrated through Preble Co., OH; to Fayette Co., IN (briefly); then to Johnson Co., IN, where they stayed. There were other Watts families in Butler Co., OH and in Johnson Co., IN. However, we have been unable to make any connections. Would really love to know who the parents of Israel Watts were. Israel1 Watts was born estimated 1787 or 1788. Israel died 12 Jul 1859 in Johnson Co., IN, at 72 years of age. His body was interred in Edinburg, Blue River Twp., Johnson Co., IN. He married Mary Deweese in Butler Co., OH, 14 Nov 1809.1 Mary was born in Kent Co., DE circa 1785.2 Mary 3 was the daughter of Joshua Deweese and Elizabeth New. Mary died after 1860. Israel Watts and Mary Deweese had the following children: 2 i. daughter2 Watts4 was born in Butler Co., OH circa 1811. Daughter died sometime before 1862.5 She married ( ) Threlkeld estimated 1830. 3 ii. second child Watts6 was born in Preble Co., OH circa 1814. She|he died sometime before 1862. 4 iii. Israel R. Watts7 was born in Preble Co., OH circa 1817. Israel died 1848 probably in Johnson Co., IN, at 31 years of age.8 He married Elizabeth Dunham in Johnson Co., IN, 30 Aug 1842.9 She married William P. Ashley in Johnson Co., IN, 30 Oct 1851.10 5 iv. male(1) child Watts11 was born in Fayette Co., IN circa 1820. He died sometime before 1862. 6 v. male(2) child Watts12 was born in Johnson Co., IN circa 1822. Male(2) died before 1862. 7 vi. Alice Ann Watts13 was born in Johnson Co., IN circa 1824. Alice died Feb 1850 in Blue River Twp., Johnson Co., IN, at 25 years of age.14 She married Charles Bay in Johnson Co., IN, 18 Apr 1844.15 Charles was born in Kentucky circa 1820.16 He married Harriett F. after 1850. 8 vii. Richard L. Watts17 was born in Johnson Co., IN circa 1826. He married twice. He married Jane Sutton in Johnson Co., IN, 21 Feb 1847.18 Jane was born in Johnson Co., IN 26 Dec 1827.19 Jane was the daughter of Jacob Sutton and Abigail Doty. He married Sarah J. estimated 1868. 9 viii. female Watts20 was born in Johnson Co., IN circa 1829. She probably died before 1840 since she was absent from the 1840 census. 10 ix. Sarah J. Watts21 was born in Johnson Co., IN 23 Jun 1832.22 Sarah died 8 Sep 1851 at 19 years of age.23 Her body was interred in Blue River Twp., Johnson Co., IN, Rest Haven Cemetery.
