Dear Watts Researchers, I need help. My g grandfather is James Harry Watts, born July 8, 1842; married Nov. 5, 1868 in Cass county Michigan to Lorena Maria Oyler; he died April 25, 1919, Wilbarger County Texas. My problem is I am not sure about where he was born or anything else except the names of possible brothers and sisters or nieces and nephews. I believe he was either born in Erie County, New York or Fergus, Ontario, Canada. His parents moved either to Canada about 1844 or moved to New York about 1844. I have tried for years to find out about him. I know he fought for the Michigan 1st Calvary during the Civil War; he was wounded and captured. He spent time in Libbly prision during the Civil War. He was released due to the efforts of Masons. He married Michigan, moved to Indiana and then to Texas. Please let me know if anything matches. Here is a list of other relatives: 1. Ann Watts 2.
