Lived in Bedford County, Virginia, and Moved to Lynchburg, Virginia around 1868. After the death of James Watts, Jr. The home place of James Watts, Sr. "Redlands", which is located near Bedford City, Virginia, became the property of Col. James Winston Watts, an officer in the Confederate Army and a wealthy and influential citizen of Lynchburg. The early members of the Watts family are buried in the family graveyard near the house. I am a relative of Col. Watts, through the Lee Family, and am in the process of extending this line.
