Dear Deborah, As my ancestor, Hugh Stuart Watt aka Watts, b. 1805, married in New York City, and I've been trying to locate his brother who supposedly came from Scotland with Hugh, I've been curious about your relatives mentioned below. I would appreciate it if you could give me some more information on them (birth dates, etc.) also if you know when they came to this country and from where. Hello, I'm trying to find some information about my grandmother's parents. My grandmother was born in Sheffield England and moved to the US aftering meeting my grandfather Billy Ghramm who was in the army in WWII, her name is Elsie Watts. I don't know dates of my grandmother's parents, only that they lived in Sheffield England. There names were: Horace Watts and Caroline Haynes. I have tried contacting people on the Yorkshire list and on the West Riding list but with no success. So I'm hoping that posting here on the Watts list will be a better place to submit. Thanks in advance, Steven Cole ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com.

Dear Watts Researchers, I need help. My g grandfather is James Harry Watts, born July 8, 1842; married Nov. 5, 1868 in Cass county Michigan to Lorena Maria Oyler; he died April 25, 1919, Wilbarger County Texas. My problem is I am not sure about where he was born or anything else except the names of possible brothers and sisters or nieces and nephews. I believe he was either born in Erie County, New York or Fergus, Ontario, Canada. His parents moved either to Canada about 1844 or moved to New York about 1844. I have tried for years to find out about him. I know he fought for the Michigan 1st Calvary during the Civil War; he was wounded and captured. He spent time in Libbly prision during the Civil War. He was released due to the efforts of Masons. He married Michigan, moved to Indiana and then to Texas. Please let me know if anything matches. Here is a list of other relatives: 1. Ann Watts 2. John V. Watts children: Vina Louise Watts of New York City; Jesse Watts & Dr. Fred Watts of Port Hope, Michigan 3. Mary J. Correction: The Vincent Watts who was the father of children with Cherokee blood (wife, Nancy) was evidently not the Vinson Watts who was the son of Thomas Watts Jr. Their relationship is unclear. Vinson had a son Vincent but this does not seem to be he either. More later. Carolyn

Does anyone have any information on the family of Dr. Banaugh Watts, born 03/06/1855, died 07/07/1927 in Neosho, Missouri? He married Sarah L. Vaughn in 1877 in Jackson County, Missouri. She died in 1892 in Crawford County, Arkansas, and is buried there. In 1893 he married my great aunt, Nancy Ann "Annie" Rains, also in Crawford County. He and Aunt Nancy had three children, Ernest (born 1894), Fitzhugh (born 1898), and Fay Neal (born 1903). Other than additional particulars on dates, etc., I have no other information on Banaugh or his family. Any help would be appreciated. David C. Rains davidgloriarains@worldnet.att.net
