Hi everyone, I have been lurking for a while while I got my papers together. I am a complete newbie (any assistance/hints would be appreciated) and am wanting to research my father's family. My father Norman Stanley Watt (b. 22/06/1931 d. 23/09/1989) moved to New Zealand in the 1950s and I have never had any contact with his family - barring a very old Great Aunt in Denshaw - who is now very fragile and with a memory that is not too reliable and his sister Eunice who is also deceased. I am wondering if anyone has any details on his father Thomas William Watt (profession classed as Dyer) who married Annie Cunningham - their birth dates/marriage date are/is unknown to me. When my father was born the family resided at 16A Union Street, Royton. I do know that Thomas and Annie had a large family - my father the eldest of 6 - other siblings are (again no birth dates known) Alan, Gordon, Eunice, Jean, Edith. If anyone can help me with either finding out more about my grandfather/grandmother and their children or has any tips on researching the UK whilst in NZ I would really appreciate the heads up.
