Hello John, I have James Watt marrying Christian Walker 29 Aug 1761, Newbattle, Midlothian, Scotland. I know of only two children: William born April 1763 and Christian born Jan 1766. Regarding your "James Watt (m Catharine Butler)" late 1700's. Do you have more specific details? This may have been the same man with two marriages. -- Diane Jameson, California List Administrator for Surnames ALLAN and WATT > From: "JOHN WATT" <jjone@bigpond.com> > Date: Sun, 19 Aug 2001 22:23:28 +1000 > To: WATT-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [WATT] Watt families Edinburgh > Resent-From: WATT-L@rootsweb.com > Resent-Date: Sat, 18 Aug 2001 18:22:48 -0600 > > My research interests are mainly Watt families of Edinburgh in 1700's and > 1800's: > Late 1700's - Alexander Watt (m Mary Reid), James Watt (m Catharine Butler) > David Watt and Marion Watterson (/Waterston/Watherston) - married 1820, > children James, John, Grace and possibly more. > James Watt and Elizabeth Wilson - married1850, children David (my GGF), Adam, > Jack, Elizabeth. > John Watt and Frances Grieve - married 1848, one adopted daughter Jeanie. > A number of seafarers amongst them and bookbinders also.
