My great grandfather showed up in the 1871 census for Middlesex, England. He was a print shop owner and hired 26 persons. He was married to Caroline Amelia Curvin and had seven children--Caroline, Frederick, Emily,Rosaline, John, Deborah, and Edwin James (my grandfather). Where did he come from and where was he born? On the census he said he was born in Dominica about 1826. What were his parents doing there? Were they in transit back to the Scotland or England? from the United States or what? I can't seem to get a line on them before that census. He died before 1871 and I don't know when she died either, or where. I would really appreciate some info to lead me to their roots.
