There was an Esther Watt born 29 Feb 1872 in Riccarton, Ayrshire, the daughter of James Watt and Ann Donnelly, but also one born 18 Jul 1873 in Largs, Ayrshire, the daughter of Francis Watt and Jane McLachlan. If Benjamin and Esther were using the Scottish naming system, you might expect some of these names to be used for their children. If you do have some of these names, and don't know about the Scottish naming system, let me know and I'll explain off-list. There are no marriages recorded in the IGI for either of the couples above, and I think they may have had an Irish connection. Esther is an uncommon name in Scotland at that time anyway, and Francis and Donnelly are both names more often found among Irish immigrants.
