Hi First time on this list. Trying to pin down a birth and confirm a fathers name for Walter Watts born abt 1874 in St. George, Bristol. Great confusion on fathers name, but on marriage certificate, it came up as Walter as well, can't seem to locate a Walter (head) on the 1881 census. Any help out there for this little stumbling block. Thanks Ed Abbotsford, Canada

I've tracked my WATT line back to Kincardineshire around the late 1700s. Alexander and William are strong family names. From Kincardine some family moved to the Tyneside area of Durham (mid to late 1800s). Two branches made their way to Australia (1860 and 1922). Bruce Watt Melbourne, Australia
Yes, I'm a WATT out there and I'm looking for a connection with my line. I am looking for the parents of my great great grandparents. They were David WATT and Jane ANDERSON both born in Pennsylvania. Here is the information: WATT, David - 1791-1848 - PA>OH>IL I am seeking the parents of my great, great grandparents, David WATT, born 5 Nov 1791 in PA, and Jane ANDERSON, born 3 Feb 1796 in Coal Hill, PA. They were married 11 Apr 1815 in Pittsburgh, PA. David WATT served in the War of 1812 with the Pittsburgh Blues, a company of volunteer militia. According to newspaper articles about their marriage, David was from Brownsville, Fayette Co. PA, and Jane was from Pitt Township, Allegheny Co. PA, at the time of their marriage. In 1817, this family moved to Cincinnati, OH residing there until 1833 when they moved to Winchester, Scott Co., IL. They had nine children: Isabel (1816 PA), Henry A. (1817 OH), James (1820 OH), David B. (1822 OH), Euphemia Ann (1825 OH), Hannah Jane (1828 OH), Robert A. (abt 1829 OH), Oliver (1832 OH), and William H. (1837 IL). David WATT died 5 Jan 1848 and Jane Anderson WATT died 15 Jul 1851, both in IL. Respond to this list and to: JackGWatt@aol.com.
I am serious, is there anyone on this list? Thanks
I have yet to see any posts on this name since I joined the list. My mother was Lillie Elizabeth Watt and was the daughter of William Christopher Watt, born March 18, 1884 in Schuyler, NE. He married Fannie Elizabeth Lilley from Albion, Nebraska. William's father was Archibald Watt, born about 1850 in Scotland, marriage to Elizabeth Greaser born in 1856 in Colfax Co. Nebraska. Archibald divorced in 1890 and simply disappeared in 1890. Archibald's father was William Watt born 1804 in Moffat, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Other children included John Watt, James Watt, William Watt, Isabella Elizabeth Watt, David Watt, Janet Watt, Jane Watt, Thomas Hutchinson Watt and Samuel Watt. Any connections out there? Thanks Verdena Veelle Oregon vveelle@teleport.com

Gillian, In researching an Aussie friend's family I have found a John Watt from Grangemouth, Stirlingshire who married Jessie Agnes Martin in 1864 in Edinburgh. It's a long shot but I wonder if there's a connection (a century later) with your John? Colin Warwick Edinburgh
