No my Fred is from Nebraska. His Father was Frank Watt, and His father was John Benjamim Watt.
Hello Bethany, Thank you for your reply. I don't think there is a relationship between your "Agnes" and mine ... considering the maiden name difference, unless one of them resulted from the other ... that is yours being an ancestor from mine whose married name was Watt ... I will hold your information and if I find more about this will let you know. I am just getting started so don't know much at this point. Take care ... Linda Gross
I have a David Watt of Cambria Co. Pa., m. to Rachel, maiden name unknown. Not sure on birth year but after 1785, David and Rachel had 10 known children all born in PA. Can this be a connection. This is a related line. Thank you, Josephine
Sorry, Watt would be the maiden name for the Agnes Watt I'm looking for so I don't think there is a connection. She married in 1878 at St. Andrew in Dundee, Scotland. After her husband died I believe she may have raised his children. The last I can find of her is a census record in 1888. If any of this seems familiar, let me know.
Hello! I am looking for anyone with roots with us in this Watt family line. My grandfather, James Montgomery Watt, born in the 1800's in Airshire County, Scotland. Came to the USA and married Elizabeth Bell(?) Orris of Pittsburgh, PA. My grandfather was a glass blower. He died sometime in the 1930'a in California ... Los Angeles County, I think.
Hello Beth, I do not know if the Agnes Watt in your line is related to the one in my line. But here is a try. My great grandmother was named Agnes McCann when she married my great grandfather John Montgomery Watt sometime in the 1800's in Scotland. My grandfather, James Montgomery Watt, was born in the Aireshire County, Scotland as far as I know. Are we related in any way? Does this connect with you at all? Look forward to hearing from you. Linda YaffaBrachot
Hello ... I am Linda Gross. My maternal grandfather was James Montgomery Watt. His father was John Montgomery Watt and his mother was Agnes McCann who became Watt on marriage. Not sure this connects with you but thought I would try. Is it possible the Agnes of your line is related to the Agnes of my line? I do not know where they lived in Scotland but my grandfather was from Airshire County. I believe that is near Glasgow. Going back several generations my great great great great (?) Grandfather was James Watt who developed the steam engine. Is that your line also? Hope to hear from you. Linda YaffaBrachot

I am researching the line of John Watt/Elizabeth Anderson, who had a son George Watt born c1810, Dunbar, East Lothian. He married Julian Redpath (after she died, he married Georgina Scotland Couper) and later lived in Jamaica Street, Edinburgh. Cheers! Karina Randall Melbourne, Australia
