Hello All - Just joined your list. Watson is a new name to my family tree. I learned recently that my 7th gr-grandfather was John Watson, founder of Wilmington, North Carolina in the 1600s. The only other Watson fact I have is that John's Granddaughter Mary Watson (I do not have Mary's parents names) married Samuel Marshall who came to NC from England about 1745. Samuel was a Loyalist and was forced to flee back to England during the Revolutionary War, leaving behind his wife and family, and dying there in 1790. One of his children settled in Nova Scotia. I have no idea what happened to all the rest but I'd love to find out! Anyone hitch up to the North Carolina Watsons? Thanks for your time. Bonnie Kehoe-Gove
