I am researching the Watson surname in Illinois. Does anyone have any information on the name in the Jo Daviess County area. The oldest known relative I have is Sherman L. Watson born July 5, 1869 in Apple River, Jo Daviess County, Illinois. he died on oct 3, 1905 He married Sarah Jane Jewell born may 10, 1872 in Scales Mound, Jo Daviess County, Illinois. And died sometime after 1936. They had two children: Clyde Jewell Watson (11/28/1891 - 11/22/1959) (My great grandfdather) and Madaline Watson (about 1896)
