Hello WATSON researchers. I'm searching for records regarding my 3'rd gr grandmother Catherine WATSON. She is listed on the 1850 census record as being age 77 so she was born about 1773. I have been working on this search for about 15 years & have made contact with many cousins who also descend from her. We have found some records stating she was born in Md. Also it seems her mother was named Hester/Esther. I have data regarding a will record for John WATSON in June 1775 located in Queen Anne County, Md. This John had a wife named Hester. The children listed were: Hannah, Henrietta, Thomas, Leon, Mary, Margaret, Rachel & Sarah, NO CATHERINE listed. It might be that John had his will drawn up before Catherine was born which would explian why she is not included. I have a copy of the marriage record for Catherine where she married Thomas ADAMS 1794 in Bourbon County, Ky. The marr. record was signed by a Ralph ADAMS as being her guardian. Does anyone know what age a girl had to be to get married in Ky. without signed permission ? If the age was 21 then she may have been 20 years old at her marriage date & Ralph was still her guardian. The census record could be in error & she maybe was born after 1773. I would guess there may have been a WATSON to ADAMS connection since Ralph ADAMS was her guardian. I have searched for a marriage record for Ralph ADAMS but haven't found any marr. record for him. Thanks in advance for any help in my search, Ed Jones New Palestine, In.
