This is in response to Craig Beeman's post of 7/23. I believe this family has been posted before but it has been some time so there may not be others on the list still interested in this family. The information I have is NOT VERIFIED by me, but comes from the files of Joe Hart, York Co. genealogist for many years: 1. David Watson b. 6/5/1706 d. 1/5/1785 m. Hannah UNK b. 1717 d. 8/13/1790 a. James Watson b. 1738 d. 12/5/1802 is buried at Beersheba Presbyterian Cemetery in York Co. SC m. Jane Houston b. ? d. 12/2/1808-Beersheba Cem. b.William Watson d. abt 1801 c. John Watson d. abt 1782 d. Anne Watson m. a Moffett e. Sarah Watson m. James Templeton f. Gilbert Watson d. bef 1776 g. Samuel Watson a. James Watson b. 1738 d. 12/5/1802 m. Jane Houston. Their children are: 1a Aaron Watson m. Margaret Brown 2a.Elizabeth Watson m. Alexander Finley 3a Jane Watson m. Robert Barber 4a Samuel Watson d. 1836 5a David Watson b. 1764 d. 8/15/1822 m. Mary McCord -went to MO 6a John Watson b. 7/30/1766 d. 4/12/1791 m. Margaret Byers - went to MO 7a William Watson b. 1772 d.9/11/1837 m. Mary Venable (my line) 8a Anna Watson b. 5/26/1788 d. 4/25/1850 m. Robert Hemphill A note in a recent York C. Historical Society "Quarterly" from "Pike County History" on migrations to MO, indicated that John, James, and David Watson went to MO...with Edward Byers. It would appear that David and John are the two brothers above, but I cannot place James Watson. Perhaps the Edward Byers is related to Margaret Byers.... Craig, Where did you get the information that James Watson m. Jean Craig? Could he have married twice? It appears that the Houston name shows up in David m. Mary McCord's son, so it would be a connection to Jane Houston as show from the Hart files. I have some more on this family and would love to share. Janelle Dixon
