Peter H. Watson was a Washington patent attorney before the Civil War. During the Civil War Lincoln appointed Edwin Stanton as his Secretary of War, and in turn Peter H. Watson as an Assistant Secretary of War. In 1872 Watson was President of the South Improvement Company, and later president of the Erie Railroad. In 1874 Alexander W. MacDougall authored a book entitled "ERIE: THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF JAMES MCHENRY AND MR. PETER H. WATSON." Published in London. I am unable to find this book on the internet, or Inter-Library Loan. Could some one please suggest where it might be found? With many thanks. Herbert Watson Warden.
