Stew, I have a William J. Watson born Feb. 1869, married June 27, 1892 Violetta Patten born March 1876. His father was Thomas Green Watson born March 12 1843, Thomas's father was Jeptha P. Watson born July 18, 1819 in Bath Co., Kentucky and we believe Jeptha's father was Thomas Watson, Thomas's father was William and William's father was Benjamin. Family tradition says Thomas's father William died and Thomas was orphaned and raised by his grandfather Benjamin. We also believe he was born in England. Thomas married (we think in Virginia) Susan O'Sullivan (could've been Sullivan) and they had 3 children we know of, Malinda V., Jeptha P. and Samuel Redd DeKalb Watson. My line of Watson's are know for naming their children after relatives. And they had large familes back then. So far for Jeptha's children (who are Thomas Green Watson's siblings), we have: Sarah A., William M., Thomas Green, Riley W., Abby Ellen, John Simp, Matilada V. and Armina J.
