Hi, I have just started to trace my family tree and would welcome any details. My maiden name is Watson, and my family is from Burnham on Crouch, Essex, England, UK. I am trying to trace any information about Lionel Watson, my great grandfather. He was a professional soldier in the Coldstream Guards and I believe died in France in the first world war. Prior to that he had been stationed in South Africa (Johannesburg, Pretoria heights). We believe that the family orginally comes from the border country between England and Scotland but have no precise information.
