    1. [WATSON] John Watson PA, SC, AL, TN
    2. Id love to hear from anyone with any connections to the following elusive Watsons. Riley Leroy Watson was born in 1852. This family is living in St. Clair County, Al. in 1860. I think the family might be in SC prior to this time, but I have not been able to locate them thus far. Riley died in Franklin County, TN in 1926. This family first shows up in TN on the 1870 census. Riley's death certificate lists his father as John Watson. His mother's name is Elizabeth. The 1860 census of Alabama lists Elizabeth as being born in SC. On the 1870 census this family is living in Franklin County, TN. Elizabeth is now the head of the family and there are 3 children. People in the family do say that John died during the War Between the States. Also on the 1870 census of Franklin County, TN, there is an older John and Elizabeth Watson living next door to Elizabeth and the three children. They are in their 70s and say they were born in PA. This John and Elizabeth from PA may be the parents of the other John. No connection has been proved.
