Good morning to all, I am researching the family of my great great grand-aunt Tellira Charlotte Ann EGGERS (b c1834 Dublin, IRL), who arrived at Geelong, Victoria, Australia in 1853 with her sisters Matilda and Amelia. Tellira married Robert Wellington WATSON (b c1830 Aberdeen, FIF, SCT) at Geelong, Victoria, Australia in 1854. Tellira and Robert lived in Ballarat from c1855 to c1866, then they emigrated to New Zealand c1866, living in Picton, then moving to Wellington around 1870. Robert Wellington WATSON died at Wellington, New Zealand in 1890. Tellira Charlotte Ann WATSON died at Epsom, New Zealand in 1921. Tellira and Robert WATSON had the following children: 1) Robert Eggers WATSON (1856-?) - born Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, m Helen Evair GRAY (1859-1914) in 1881 in Wellington, New Zealand - childrens names: Isabella Eggers WATSON (m James Henry TRAILL) Claude Charles WATSON (m Phoebe Catherine BAXTER) Helen Evair WATSON Caroline Rose WATSON (female) WATSON 2) Paulina Emma Margaret WATSON (1858-1940) - born Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, m Alfred John COTTRELL (c1857-1917) in 1889 in Dunedin, New Zealand. Alfred J COTTRELL died in 1917 at Remuera, New Zealand, while Paulina E M COTTRELL died in 1940 at Te Aroha, New Zealand. They had one daughter: Eileen Watson COTTRELL (married Ralph Wilfrid STEVENS) 3) Claude Orrick WATSON (b & d 1861) - born and died Ballarat, Victoria, Australia 4) Tellira Charlotte WATSON (1862-1925) - born Ballarat West, Victoria, Australia, m Alfred Elliott DEAN (1864-1928) in 1893, in Wellington, New Zealand. Alfred E DEAN died in 1928 at Wellington, New Zealand, while Tellira C DEAN died in 1925 at Auckland, New Zealand. They had two female children, names unknown, but both daughters known to be alive in 1928. 5) Phoebe Eggers WATSON (1866-?) - can't find a birth in Australia or New Zealand, so I assume Phoebe was born on the voyage over to New Zealand. Phoebe appears never to have married, and was known to be living in the Auckland area in 1928 6) Caroline Cudmore WATSON (1868-?) - born in Picton, New Zealand, m Henry FORSYTH in 1900, place unknown (assumed to be Wellington, New Zealand). Last known to have been living in the Auckland area in 1925. Known to have had at least one son: Harry Stewart FORSYTH 7) Alfred Wellington WATSON (1870-?) - born in Picton, New Zealand, unknown if married. Last known to be living in Wellington, New Zealand in the 1890s. 8) John Bannatyne WATSON (b & d 1873) - born in Wairoa ? and died in Wellington, New Zealand. I would love to hear from anybody researching the family of Tellira and Robert WATSON, or who may know anybody who was descended from this family.
