    3. I notice there has been a lot of activity on the Watson rootsweb site, and so I thought I would ask again if anyone knows anything about my "black sheep." He is my great grandfather, William Harvel Watson, born circa 1830 in, I think, Lincoln County, KY. Marrived Martha Ann Richardson January 4, 1855, in Lancaster, Garrard Co., KY. He was a blacksmith by trade. They had 8 children and I would be happy to give the list if anyone knows anything about this Watson. He appears in the KY census in 1870 and then Martha and her family appear in the Illinois census in 1880 in Farmers City, IL. I have her obituary and it doesn't mention her husband preceding her in death nor is he listed as a survivor. I think the scamp left her and ran off. There is a lore that Martha held up a bloody hankerchief and showed it to her sons and said, "Avenge your father." Now, that could be so much blarney. If anyone has any knowledge, I sure would be appreciative. Clara Elkins, Emporia, KS
