Hello all: Is anyone on this WATSON list searching in Scotland......that is where my interests are. Thank you Anne
Yes indeed Anne, most of my Watson ancestors seem to have been generated in quite a few towns & villages in Fife. For some reason there is more genealogical internet activity via the rootsweb place names such as SCT-FIFE-L@rootsweb.com for example. Do you know which area your John may have lived ? My original ancestors were supposedly from Scotland as well. The first three to come over here landed in St Mary's Cty, MD. They were John, Joseph, and James (my link). Their parents were reportedly Joseph & Sarah Watson, and some have listed William Wattson as Joseph's father, though we have no proof. I also have Campbell lines back to Scotland, but have found no effective searching methods. My line for them is well documented, but proving that my recent ancestors are really of that line with more than census records & family stories has been difficult. Does anyone have a list of sources that included access to copies of birth records, or even land deeds? " Is anyone on this WATSON list searching in Scotland......that is where my interests are." Yes Anne l am searching for Watsons in Scotland - Ayrshire.
