Does anyone have information on the Watson's of Pennsylvania in 1825-1830? I am trying to locate the family of Matilda Watson, born about 1800. She married Robert Kilgore and they had a lot of children. They lived in Armstrong County and Allegheny County, PA. I cannot locate them after the 1850 census. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks much. People may never remember what you did, or what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
Please note change of address. iamagaga@cyberscope.com Ray

My understanding is that they are not charging. Please see the message below that contains information from the ancestry.com help desk. I know it is confusing but I hope this helps a bit. Take care - Emma The message is below: Ancestry is *not* charging for access to trees or selling trees: access will remain free from both the RootsWeb and Ancestry side as it has always been. What Ancestry is offering for an extra charge is access to a special search engine to search the trees for you. Folks can still search the trees manually or browse the trees for free the same way they always have. Think of it as a research assistant: you can hire someone to help you look for your ancestors, or you can research yourself for free. Hiring a human research assistant doesn't sell them the data being researched, or change the rules so that only they are allowed to look. That's essentially what it is, except that it's computerized, not human.
Unfortunately, it's no longer free as of right now. You can "preview" only selected trees now but it's all for a fee. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ray Lovett" <iamagaga@cyberscope.net> To: <WATSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 02, 2004 9:32 PM Subject: [WATSON] Fw: [DNA] Ancestry new policy > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Ola N" <oknb2000@yahoo.com> > To: <GENEALOGY-DNA-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, May 02, 2004 8:09 PM > Subject: [DNA] Ancestry new policy > > > > Those of you who have uploaded family trees to > > Ancestry should note that they plan to charge for > > access to the data starting May 21. > > > > They state that if you do not want your data to be > > sold you should remove it before May 21. > > > > I stumbled across this while trying to search some > > trees today They call this "One World Tree" > > > > Info may bee seen at these links: > > > > http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/trees/owt/ > > http://trees.ancestry.com/owt/about.aspx > > > > > > > > > > > > > > __________________________________ > > Do you Yahoo!? > > Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at Yahoo! Hi Ray, Thanks for letting us know that Ancestry.com is going to start charging. We use them the most. We are removing our family trees from Ancestry.com and putting them at www.gencircles.com which is very nice. Are there any descendants of the following families on-line here? If so, please contact me at gdwatson@accesscable.net off-line ... we're probably more closely related than you think ... (1) William & Sarah (Matthew?) Watson or Joseph & Catherine (Hawthorn, Wellbelove) Watson of RISCA, WALES (2) Any of the Buftons near RUTHIN, WALES (3) Evan & Harriet (Watson) Rees of RISCA, WALES (4) Herbert & Theresa (Watson) Aklin of RISCA, WALES (5) Isaac & Sarah Ann (Cross) Watson of RISCA, WALES (where else ???) (6) Abraham & Mary (Crook) Watson of (bet you can guess) RISCA, WALES children (7) William J. & Ellen Cecelia (New) Watson; Alfred and Mary (Dight) Watson; ... should have thought of this in the first place ...; George & Hannah (Watson) Allen ... all of RISCA, WALES. All were born in the RISCA area (why not ???) and worked there pre-Great War and I'm guessing post Great War 1914-1918. There were many children among the households shown on various documents I have from 1901 to about 1920. Surely, someone is left ... if not ... I'm allllllllll alone ....... Help! GORD WATSON (not of RISCA, WALES but of VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA but living in ...) Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Canada
Not working on that line but the names are Watson names out of PA. See if you can get the next generation back. That family could be out of old Col Sam Watson out of SC by way of PA. His boys did go through the south and on to MO. Some stayed in KY. I bet. Aye yours, John
I am interested in information about my grandfather William Harrison Watson ( 1832-1917)and Delilah Wesley Watson (1837-1876?), his spouse, of Casey and Pulaski County, Kentucky. If you are working on this branch, please contact me, so we can compare notes. Thank You, Vi ZIGLAR Love

Could really use a hand here over the "wall". TIA from this Eastern Canadian. Gordon D. Watson Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Canada

My brick wall. Searching for information pertaining to the following: James WATSON, born in Ayr married Catherine SMITH, born in Ayr. Their daughter Catherine married John WALES 26 Mar 1831 @ Irvine, Ayr. Did Catherine have any siblings? Catherine WATSON b abt 1811 Irvine & John WALES b. 27 Sep 1801 Kilwinning. This couple had a two children born in Kilwinning but later moved to Highchurch, Glasgow around 1834.They had four children born in "Parkhead", which I gather is in Glasgow. I am most anxious to learn about the Watson Family of Irvine. Thank you for your time and consideration. Irene Esson
