Thanks Jeannette! I had a cousin who married a lady from PA and they live and reared their family there. I didn't have information on his family. Hello list, I've established a Watson surname-DNS study group at FamilyTreeDNA.com It's primary focus is for those who have Watson relatives with southeastern US roots but any male Watsons are invited to participate. (Only men have Y-DNA, so women need not apply, I'm afraid.) I expect to collect information about many Watson families before finding the one my own links to, and I'm happy to share it with those interested. The project page is at http://www.familytreedna.com/public/watson There is a link on that page to my genealogy website's Watson page where I've posted what meager information we know about my own Watson family. So far our "Most Recent Known Ancestor" is Charles L. Watson, b. 1838 in Georgia. Cheers, Katherine (Watson) Cochrane

Hi Ok the question is are these families related? John Watson line is a collateral line on my Moyher's Father's side and the William Watson/ Sara Ellen is my Great Grandmother on my Mother's Mother's side. Both Sarah Ellen Watson and Sara Ellen Watson were born in IN close to the same year... My Great grandmother would not use the name Sara and went by Ellen all her life.. I'm wondering if this was because her cousin (not proven to be a cousin) Sarah Ellen used Sarah??? if they are related it will help me find the parents of William Watson who is a brick wall for me... Hi, Seeking ancestors of James M. Watson, born 1807 somewhere in PA, married to Rebecca ? born in 1810. Not clear whether he fought in the Civil War. He appears as an engine builder in 1870 Indianapolis and died there in 1886. Children: (1) Elmer W. Watson, born 1843 in PA who married Jennie Elizabeth Rose in 1870 Indiana. Elmer was a railroad brakeman in 1870, a carriage painter in 1900 and coach painter in 1920 in Indianapolis and died there in 1913. (2) Rebecca Watson, born 1846 in PA, appears to have married Charles Calvert, a patent rights dealer born in 1841. One son, George, born in IN in 1872. Any help appreciated. Dick in Las Vegas
Does anyone here have anything on a Mary Watson b. c1712 NC who married William England b. c1700, Scotland. Mary Watson's father was William Watson b. Bet. 1640-1690. This would not be my main line of Watson's as far as I know, but it would be in my England line that married a Watson. Bob Horn
