Peter H. Watson was a Washington patent attorney before the Civil War. During the Civil War Lincoln appointed Edwin Stanton as his Secretary of War, and in turn Peter H. Watson as an Assistant Secretary of War. In 1872 Watson was President of the South Improvement Company, and later president of the Erie Railroad. In 1874 Alexander W. MacDougall authored a book entitled "ERIE: THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF JAMES MCHENRY AND MR. PETER H. WATSON." Published in London. I am unable to find this book on the internet, or Inter-Library Loan. On the 1900 Franklin Co. census, Margaret stated that she was the mother of 12 with 6 living. They were Josephine "Josie", William "Billy", John LaFitte, Elizabeth "Lizzie", Molly, and Estelle. Hi Listers, I am looking for siblings of John W. Watson son of Jesse and Susan (McEuin) Watson. They lived in Rutherford, Gibson Cty, TN about 1845 and all three are buried at Walnut Grove Cem., Rutherford. I am assuming that John had brothers and sisters but can't find any evidence of them. My great great grandmothers name was Martha Ann Watson. She married Fielding William hale on January 14, 1851. She was born on Nov. 26th, 1827 in possibly Springfield, Ill or Missouri or even perhaps in Hardin Co. KY. ????........these are my Hales routes of travel. She died in Walla Walla, Washington on Feb 6th, 1901 at the home of her son Fielding Wm. Columbus Hail.(They changed the spelling from Hale to Hail). I have absolutely nothing on this lady, her siblings, parents, etc. Can anyone help? Thanks John Blair
