    1. Jean (HOUSTON) WATSON, dau. David & Mary of NC

    3. Jean (HOUSTON) WATSON, dau. David & Mary HOUSTON of Rowan Co., NC "Hello Cousins!" Am hoping that one or more of you may be familiar with the family of David and Mary (MORRISON) HOUSTON of Rowan Co., NC. David (1718-1762 NC) and Mary (1719-1781 NC) had a dau. Jean, who is referred to in her mother's will as Jean WATSON. Might any of you know for a fact that Mary's estate packet has been searched and the identity of Jean (HOUSTON) WATSON's husband revealed? Some WATSON family researchers are most confident that Jean HOUSTON was the wife of James WATSON (1738-1802 SC), while at least one other researcher has stated that she married one David WATSON. Who married Jean HOUSTON? James, David, or still another yet unidentified WATSON? Any and all assistance in resolving this question once and for all will be most appreciated! Thank you "Cousins!" TTYL Craig

    3. I am interested in a John Watson that supposedly came over with three (or 5) brothers. Names that I have are John and William (brothers) and three others that were also brothers named Richmond, Arthur and Ezekiel. These last three were supposedly first cousins of John and William. I have that John married Ann Murphey. I have 10 children for them. Does any of this fit with your Watsons? 1. biography of Peter H. Watson
    2. Herbert Warden
    3. Peter H. Watson was a Washington patent attorney before the Civil War. During the Civil War Lincoln appointed Edwin Stanton as his Secretary of War, and in turn Peter H. Watson as an Assistant Secretary of War. In 1872 Watson was President of the South Improvement Company, and later president of the Erie Railroad. In 1874 Alexander W. MacDougall authored a book entitled "ERIE: THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF JAMES MCHENRY AND MR. PETER H. WATSON." Published in London. I am unable to find this book on the internet, or Inter-Library Loan. Could some one please suggest where it might be found? With many thanks. Herbert Watson Warden.

    1. TN Watson Siblings
    2. Hi Listers, I am looking for siblings of John W. Watson son of Jesse and Susan (McEuin) Watson. They lived in Rutherford, Gibson Cty, TN about 1845 and all three are buried at Walnut Grove Cem., Rutherford. I am assuming that John had brothers and sisters but can't find any evidence of them. Does anyone out there have access to the 1870 census for Gibson Cty,? Perhaps they are listed there? Thanks for your help. Marilou Watson Jacob

    1. Changing E-Mail Addresses
    2. Don Watson
    3. Dear Everybody....... I'll be updating to a highspeed cable connection, replacing the present modem-telephone connection to the internet. This will be effective on or after 2 August 1999. You may want to make a note somewhere now that after that date the E-Mail address [email protected] will no longer be valid. I'll provide the new one as soon as I find out what it is. I do not anticipate changing any URLs. However, if that happens, I'll give you advance notice. I'm doing this to enhance my efficiency in covering all the sites I monitor, and to enable me to update existing sites much faster. If you didn't need to know all this .... sorry .... If you did need to know .... Did I do good? Ahhh, speed. We used to marvel at getting a response from a computer in 24 hours, then 8, then 10 minutes, then 30 seconds. Now we demand instant responses. Awesome! :) Don Watson List Owner Hesse-L, LaRue-L http://users.rootsweb.com/~deuhes/Hessen/index.htm http://users.rootsweb.com/~deuhes/LaRue/myheart.htm http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~usafss/index.htm
