Hello all, Just a note about other fun places to visit. There are Watson boards at the following locations. Ok, so it is the 3 I visit, there may be more Genforum http://genforum.genealogy.com/watson/ Electric Scotland http://www.electricscotland.com/clans.htm registration needed-free (someone on here and the next are looking at NC. Watsons) The Gathering of the Clans/Watson http://www.discribe.ca/cgi-bin/net.Thread.pl/message/4/1/169?user=&email=&de pth=4&detail=description&lastread=7 There are often people posting on the boards who do not subscribe to lists. Good Hunting! Now, if I could only find my William Watson and Ann Brown in Aberdeen, I would be all set! In a message dated 08/17/1999 4:28:29 PM Central Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: << Anyone hitch up to the North Carolina Watsons? >> Hi, Almost all of my Watsons lived in North Carolina with a few exceptions. Mostly in Johnston County area. My GrGrGrandfather John B. Watson came to Alabama (Lawrence Co.) and my GrGrandfather George Washington Watson was born there in 1826. George went back to Johnston Co., NC to live with his Uncle Josiah Ogden Watson and attend North Carolina University. George's brother William was also born in Alabama but later moved to TX (Jefferson I believe). He was living there when George died at the age of 38 from apoplexy (stroke) because George left his estate to him. I have quite a bit more on this line if anyone is interested. Good luck, Kellie
No, John, I don't have a Martha Ann WATSON but I am missing finding where in the world Lou Della WATSON came to Texas from. She was first married to ____FOWLER and had 4 children when she married James Franklin ROBERTSON probably in Wise County, TX in the 1890-1900 time frame. I would love to hear from anyone who knows anything pertinent to either "Deller" or "Frank" as they were called. Have not been able to find siblings or parents of either. Maybe your Martha Ann would show up with them!! They came to Crosby County, Tx. with the four FOWLER children and had four together and lived long happy lives in and around Ralls, Tx. I have a good bit of info on some of their descendants to share. Thanks, Marlene Raley Robertson

One daughter, Rutha b. 17 Sept 1839 in Pulaski county m. 30 Aug. 1856 Daniel BROWN b. 10 June 1833 in Rockcastle County, KY.++++NOTE: Their m. date in the courthouse says 1846, and it should read 1856. She would have been just 7 yrs old if it was in 1846. :-) Daniel and Rutha WATSON BROWN are my Great-grandparents. They moved to Missouri and built there farm barn 1st then the house. Both died in Nodaway county, MO. I lived in that house myself several years with my parents. We got the information on Martha and Thorton WATSON from the library in Pulaski Co, KY. Have some info on Martha's family, but Thorton WATSON b. abt 1807 in VA is as far back we go on the WATSONS. I could sure use some help............ After reading all your ancestors names, they must have really scattered. I sure hope these names will fall into place with someone. Thank You, Dean E. Seeking info on John W. Watson; he married Julia WHITAKER 1860 in Grayson Co., TX. John Watson was listed as born in Alabama on Collin County and Grayson County census records 1850-1890. That is all I know of him; he first appears in 1850 Collin County census as 21 years old. He is said to have been born June 28, 1828; and died in 1909 in Grayson County. In 1870 census he is listed as born in Alabama and his father born in Alabama. According to some of the census records, he may have been in KY and/or MS at an early age, as they are also listed as place of birth. His son Dennis listed his father (John) as being born in Alabama. I have been at a dead end for some time. Please let me know if there might be any chance of a connection. Regards, Mark Watson Carmel, CA [email protected]
I am trying to find proof of a connection between ARTHUR B WATSON B 1803, son of Averette watson adn Danile G watson b 1811 son of Thomas watson. Averettes watsons came from Maryland, NC, SC, GA, AL and long b4 the Thomas watson line who came in 1775 from england. I KNOW there is a connection, I just cannot find out who/where/when and how. THIS ARTHUR B WATSON took my DANIEL G WATSON 's children, EMILY and LEWIS and raised them as his own...family stories claim arthur was daniels cousin but emilys family claims she always said arthur was daniels uncle. If anyone here can find a tie between these two watson families I would appreciate the help pat

Some of the family moved to New York City and others to northern California. CLARA ELMINA LEONARD MARRIED JAMES GARDNER in 1878 and they moved to California. John Watson Sharp
Hello All - Just joined your list. Watson is a new name to my family tree. I learned recently that my 7th gr-grandfather was John Watson, founder of Wilmington, North Carolina in the 1600s. The only other Watson fact I have is that John's Granddaughter Mary Watson (I do not have Mary's parents names) married Samuel Marshall who came to NC from England about 1745. Samuel was a Loyalist and was forced to flee back to England during the Revolutionary War, leaving behind his wife and family, and dying there in 1790. One of his children settled in Nova Scotia. I have no idea what happened to all the rest but I'd love to find out! Anyone hitch up to the North Carolina Watsons? Thanks for your time. Bonnie Kehoe-Gove
Looking for any info on my gg grandmother Martha Anne Watson. Only information is that she was born in Kentucky 1827 and then family moved to Illinoise and then Missouri. Hi folks ! I'm wondering if there is anyone amongst you who can help me with a Watson puzzle. I have a William Henry Watson b either 1860 or 1862 Crawford, Missouri. He married Mary Ann Stever of Illinois, in 1889, Portland, Oregon. On the death certificate for William is listed Philip Watson, VA, his father and Sarah Ellen Cooksey, VA, his mother. No other info. for the parents. Somehow or another, I believe my Watson family ties in to the following Watsons also in Missouri : Zachariah Taylor Thomas Watson m. Mary Nancy Sarah Ann Cooksey 6/23/1855 - 12/22/1939 1/18/1855 - 2/25/1921 ( He's possibly the son of John Watson of KY or Thomas M. & Jane Watson per info I received ) Louis James Watson m 2/14/1900 to Louisa K Goad Watson originally residing in Sligo then moved to Lead Belt. Marvin Lee Watson, son of Louis James and Louisa K Watson b 12/7/1907 Leadwood. Other names somehow involved, but having even less info on are : Nellie, Eva, Doro, Bess Aldrich, Mary A and T Melvin or J Melvin Watson also from Missouri,in Oregon 1888 or earlier. All input appreciated. Rebecca Watson Walker [email protected] ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it. Hello, Recently I saw some info concerning Thomas HAVIS and family in Franklin Co., MS. It was mentioned that 2 children of Isaac HAVIS & Elizabeth LEE married Watsons: Isaac L. b. 1841 married Rosanna WATSON 12/3/1860 and Sarah C. b. 1846 married Robert WATSON. Does anyone know any more about these Watsons? I'm researching Asa C. WATSON b. 1832 KY who married Margaret A. TRAWICK in Copiah Co., MS. The children of Asa & Margaret that I know of so far are Josephine, William, John Lafitte, Elizabeth, Molly, and Estelle. On the 1900 Franklin Co., MS census, Margaret stated that she was the mother of 12 with 6 living. Also, does anyone know who the parents or siblings were of Lucy WATSON b. 1880 who married Horace WALLACE? They had a daughter named Georgia who married J. H. CALLENDER. (This is not the same Lucy who was daughter of John Lafitte Watson.) Thanks for any help! Debbie Waddell
Dear Harold and family, I am very sorry to hear of your brothers' passing and glad that you let us know. God Bless. Edyie Seufert
