    3. Pat, There is a book on THE DEES FAMILY by Dr. Benjamin C. Holtzclaw, University of Richmond, Virginia, published in Shreveport, LA in 1970. On page 222 it has the following information. "35. WILLIAM DEES (James, Joel, William, John) b. 1829 in Ala. (census of 1850) or 1820 (census of 1870); d. April 27, 1898, probably in Monroe Co., Ala (date from Family Bible). Married Sept. 15, 1851 Claressa Watson (b. Dec. 20, 1831, d. July 4, 1882). The material on the family of William Dees, both from the census returns and from the Family Bible and other records sent me by Mrs. W. E. 3. Greetings, All. I have a bunch of mis-information that I would like to have corrected. In the line of John Watson, Thomas Townsend Watson, and Mackie Hugh (Micha Hughes) Watson, born in Virginia, Thomas Townsend migrated to Tennessee with his baby son Mackie Hugh. JOHN R. WATSON, son of Mackie Hugh, was born August 26, 1859 in Ezzell, Lavaca County, TX, according to all of the sources. His date of death ranges from February 10,1860 to February 10, 1864. HOWEVER, according to records compiled by J. E. Brooks and B. W. Brooks in 1997, JOHN R. WATSON had two children as follows: 1) John R. Watson Jr. who married Miss Nanny, and their son was JOHN R. WATSON III 2) Opal Watson married Norman Nanny, and their son was Don Nanny. I hope that someone with JOHN R. WATSON in their ancestry will check to see if the above mentioned people are part of their family tree and send the correct and updated information to me. Thank you for your help. 3. Hello cousins: I'm seeking to find out what happened to the heirs of Evan Thomas WATSON, based on an 1844 Warren Co., KY land deed. By the way, if someone has the deed transcribed, I would love a copy! Two of Evan's sons, William and Jesse, died in Miller Co., AR in 1834. Both William and Jesse had minor sons named John WATSON. Does anyone out there have any information on William or Jesse's family, dates of birth, death, marriage etc.? I have names of the children if anyone needs them, but no birth dates, etc. I'm seeking to establish that one of these (and determine which) John WATSON's married his cousin, Lucy Ann WATSON, dau of Coleman WATSON, son of Evan Thomas WATSON - 1853 in Collin Co., TX. Lucy apparently died prior to 1860, as John remarried to Julia Ann WHITAKER, and lived near the WHITAKER family for the rest fo his life. This John WATSON was born 1828 in KY and died 1909 in Grayson TX. Thank you all for your time, Mark Watson Carmel, CA

    1. Jesse WATSON son of Evan Thomas WATSON
    2. Mark T Watson
    3. Hi List: I'm seeking information on Jesse WATSON, son of Evan Thomas WATSON of VA>KY>TX. I have seen info on the Internet that Jesse died in 1834 Bowie Co., TX, and also have seen that he died 1835 in Miller Co., AR. I understand that Jesse is listed as an heir of Evan WATSON's Miller Co., AR court record, administered by Coleman Watson, 13 Aug 1834. In it is the phrase "Jesse and William of Miller Co." This brings into question the death date of Aug 4, 1834 which is prevalent on the Internet. I also wonder if this Evan WATSON is his father or brother. The big question for me, however, concerns where he married Rebecca DENTON and where they lived and who their children were. I found this info on an FTM site: Children of JACOB DENTON and ELIZABETH SPANGLER are: i. ISAAC9 DENTON, b. 1795. Notes for ISAAC DENTON: Isaac never married. He lived and died in Mobile, AL and edited a paper there and was something of a politician. In the 1850 Sumter CO, AL census, he is listed with his brother George's family. ii. REBECCA DENTON, b. 1798; m. WATSON. Notes for REBECCA DENTON: Rebecca moved from Alabama to Arkansas, then to Mississippi where she died. I find this intriguing because my John WATSON b. 1828 d. 1909 lists his birthplace in various census records as AL, MS and KY. Jesse WATSON was from KY, Rebecca was born in AL, and they came to TX and AR where Jesse died (John would have been only 6 yrs old). John married Lucy Ann WATSON, dau of Coleman WATSON, in Collin TX 1853, who would be his cousin if this theory proves out that Jesse is his father. Lots of cousins married cousins in this WATSON family - so its not really such a stretch. Lucy died before 1860, and John remarried to Julia WHITAKER and lived out his life in Grayson TX, dying there in 1909. Coleman also had other brothers named William, Evan and Downing who could have been John's father. I have no information on these men, and would appreciate any information anyone has on them. Would love to hear from someone out there who has any further information on the WATSON's listed above, notably brothers Jesse, William, Evan and Downing WATSON; all sons of Evan Thomas WATSON. Regards to All, Mark Watson Carmel, CA
