    3. In reply to the subject post, There were several George Washington Watsons during the mid 1850's. One migrated out of North Carolina and in my family, George Washington Watson, son of Powhatan P. Watson was born in Buckingham Co. Va. and migrated to Chariton Missouri in 1838-39 with his parents. He is found in the 1850 census of Chariton Co. Mo. I have came across 2 or 3 others in my searching. Hope this helps. 3. Hi, I'm looking for Washington Watson born about 1823 in Va. I can find him in the 1850 and 1860 IND census but lose him in 1870. Find him again in 1880 in Illinios under Washington Watts. First name could be George but everything that I have found is under Washington except for the children's marriage and death certificates- they list him as George. Is any one out there looking for this man, he is my headache and has been for 3 years now. I'm looking for his parents and siblings if there are any. Why the name change- what is he hiding or from? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for you help ahead of time. Sue Contact me at [email protected] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. Hi Rebecca: What Watsons did you have in Missouri? My Watsons migrated from Buckingham Co. Va. to Chariton Co. Mo. in about 1838-40 by wagon train. Names were Powhatan P. Watson & family, Henry Watson & family and Powhatan's Niece, Sarah Gilliam & her family. Any of these names sound familiar? 3. Hi Bob, Thank you for replying to my post.. With regard to your question, if your Powhatan's middle name is Phillip you just might be the answer to this lady's prayers :-) My William Henry Watson was born in Crawford, Missouri 6 January 1860 or 1862. He was known as Henry and married as Henry Watson in 1890 Oregon to Mary Stever of Illinois. On Henry's death certificate is listed the name Phillip Watson (father) and Sarah Cooksey (mother). They are listed as being from Horse Head, Virginia ( Northumberland County). The certificate also provided the birth information stated above for William Henry. William Henry's marriage to Mary Stever produced William S Watson ( who also went by William W. and William W.S. Watson ) and Arthur St Clair Watson. Names of people related to William Henry Watson: Mary or Minnie A Watson, and Thomas M Watson who had sons Thomas and Cecil. They resided in Illinois, Missouri, Oregon. Louis of Leadwood, Missouri, and Charles of ? Women mentioned Eva, Doro, Rose, Bess Aldrich, Nellie, Jena or Tina. I believe Nellie was a sister as was Tina/Jena. The other names might be nieces. Related surnames : Cummings, Willcox/Wilcox, Stever, Palmer,Foster, Bamber. Reb > What Watsons did you have in Missouri? My Watsons migrated >from Buckingham Co. Va. to Chariton Co. 3. Do you have any additional info on Mary ? I have a M A Watson...married to a T.M. Watson. It may just be her married name, but a letter she wrote to a William Henry Watson gives cause to think her maiden name was Watson too. The letter was dated 1888 and was written in Oregon.. she and her husband also were in Illinois and Missouri as well.
