Looking for information on the family of James Hoare (1833-1917) and Ellen Byrnes/Byrne/Burns (1833-1916). James and Ellen were married on March 31, 1856 in the Roman Catholic parish of Ring. Their children were born/raised on Ballymacart Head in Old Parish. Their children were: Thomas-- b. 1857; went to England. We believe he was an entertainer. Patrick-- (1859-1943); according to various years of the US Census, he came to the US late 1880's and married Mary Boyle of Ballymacarberry on September 4, 1898. He became a US citizen in 1916. John Hoar-- b. 1861; lived in Yonkers. He m. Bridget Lynch and had 4 children. Ellen Hoar O’Hara-- b. 1873; lived in New Jersey. She m. Owen O’Hara, the publisher of a Newark NJ newspaper. Catherine Hoar Moore-- b. 1864; lived in Yonkers. She m. Thomas Moore, and died while her children were rather young. Michael Hoare-- (1867-1943); remained in Ireland. He m. Bridget Drohan and had 4 children. Mary Hoare--b. December 2, 1869; probably died rather young & buried in Old Parish. Alice Hoare Schelinski-- b. March 30, 1871; came to Yonkers and m. Adolph Schelinski. Family legend leads us to believe that James Hoare, Ellen Byrnes/Byrne/Burns and their parents had siblings who migrated to America; Ellen had a brother who went to Australia.
