Hi Maureen, I noticed that in your post you said William and Martin were NYC police officers...and you are looking for descendants. Do you know about the resources available to you from the Police Dept in NYC? I don't have anyone it applies to in my line, but people on the NYC list I am on rave about it, they wrote to them and gave them some info and got tons of info , including photos of the person, and it was either free or very small fee. Let me know if you have done that yet, if not I will search up the url and send it to you. Mine were all firemen , and there are some good resources for that also if anyone is interested. You also may want to join the NYC list, if you are doing a lot of searching. That is where I have learned so many things, and tricks to help you when you get stuck.
