I am searching for my ancestors who are alleged to originate in Co. Waterford. The earliest I have traced so far is to my great grandfather John Power who lived in York, England at the time of the birth of two of his sons (Hubert de la Poer Power 1895 and Cecil de la Poer Power 1897). Family history would have it that his brother was a Sir Percy (spelling questionable - could be Pierce) Power who lived in a castle or large house in Co. Waterford (this apparently was mentioned in a Who's Who available in the 60's but I cannot trace it). The closest I have come is to a Pierce Power who bought Newtown House in Waterford but this is only grasping at straws so far! Any information on the origins or possible origins would be most gratefully received. Joe de la Poer Power
