Hi List, My gm Josephine Prendergast O'Gorman who was raised in Lismore continued to correspond with her sister in law Kathleen O'Gorman Cahill for decades after emigrating to the states. On the outside envelope of many of Kate Cahill's letters the phrase was always written "SHAMROCK WASHED AND FREE OF ROCKS" wondering if anyone else has heard this phrase and whether it has political connotations?
