    3. Susan Jennings, There is one Waterford entry in Griffith's Valuation of Tenements (1852) for Michael Hankard, Parish Kilwatermoy, Townland Glenawilliam. Kilwatermoy is not in the Roman Catholic Parish of Tallow, however it is only a mile or two to the south east of Tallow Town and Barracks Street, which is in Tallow RC Parish. Easy to imagine that some Hankards left the farm and went in to the town. On my CD of Griffith's I also note that there are a cluster of Mary Hankards in County Cork. I haven't plotted how close to the Cork/Waterford border. Perhaps you could do that. Griffith's is available in many LDS Libraries. On the Waterford County Library web site: http://www.waterfordcoco.ie/index.cgi?cat_id=4 There is a listing of Civil Registration of Deaths to around 1900 from 1860s. There I found the following deaths Hanora Hankard 18 Mar 1868, 1 day old, daughter of Patrick, reported by Mary, loc. Ahanboy John Hankard 30 Apr 1892 age 61 Julia Hankard 14 Nov 1863 age 65, widow of a gardener, loc. Moonhill. Mary Hankard, 13 Nov 1881, spinster, age 16, loc. Glenaboy Mary Hankard 15 Jan 1900, age 64, informant James Carthy, loc. Dukesmill. Patrick Hankard 6 May 1898, loc. Lismore Workhouse, age 61 The library web site has other info for each death which you can look up in your own. I only copied the deaths because they indicate the whereabouts of people who rarely moved. There are births and marriages. I don't know if the locations mentioned are in or near Tallow/Kilwatermoy parishes, but that shouldn't be to hard to figure out. I can recommend the services of the Waterford Family Heritage Center in Waterford City. They have the baptismal records of Tallow RC Parish which begin in 1797. I have been assuming your family were RC. They also have records of other denominations. Have fun! Sheila MacAvoy Block PS My Waterford family name is Michael English. They were also from Tallow Parish--Townland of Glencairn on the banks of the Blackwater River.
