I've hit a brick wall in my search for a great grandfather's date/place of arrival in the U.S. >From other records I've located, it would appear that he emigrated during the 1845-1858 time frame and most likely arrived at Manhattan Wharfs/Castle Garden, NY. Unfortunately there are no passenger list indexes for most of the above time frame and going through the LDS microfilms for each passenger ship arriving at NY for the busy 13 year time period would be horrendous. Pehaps I could reduce the number down if I knew which city/port was most likely his Waterford port of departure during the 1845-1858 time frame. Were ships able to leave from the city of Waterford or were other costal cities used? Would anyone be able to assist me on this question? Thank you, Frank
