The reason David Collins suggested the PRO is that Civil Registration of births in England began July 1, 1837. The two children you mention are probably registered. I would email the Lancashire Record Office in Lancaster and seek their help. [email protected] The parents might have married in England but it would be too early for the marriage to be recorded by civil authorities. If they were Roman Catholic, the LRO has some records of Catholic marriages which they will look up for you for a small fee. You might ask. Otherwise, you'll probably have to hope an obituary has a birth place for the parents. Sheila MacAvoy Block
