I am looking for help to trace some definite documentary trail for my paternal great-grandfather. I have traced the following person but, unfortunately, two key words are mainly not legible and the record of deaths on the website of Waterford County Council gives a ? for each letter that cannot be read. Below is the result:- NAME: Power, Ma????? PLACE OF DEATH: Carrigan??? Date of Death: 24th June 1882 Date Registered: 8th July 1882 Age: 68 years Sex: Male Condition: Married Rank: Labourer Cause of Death: Heart disease Certified: Not stated Informant: Power, Ellen Qualification: Wife Residence: Carrigan??? Signature of Registrar: Forthur, Thomas District: Kilmeadan Union: Waterford Document Type: Death Register Certificate No.: 37 Book No.: 3 Does anybody know for what is the full name for Carrigan??? in the District of Kilmeadan? Ma????? could be either Matthew or Maurice. My paternal great-grandfather was Matthew Power and his wife was Ellen. My grandfather's Marriage Certificate for his first marriage on 7th September 1868 gives his address as the single word "Corrignore" in County Waterford and names his father as Matthew Power, Labourer. On the Marriage Certificate for his second marriage on 4th November 1884, William Power's father is named as Matthew Power, Fisherman, and his address is given as Crooke. There is to reference to him being deceased. Any help would be much appreciated. Dr Con Power
