In my records I have a few ODonnell/Donnells that were God parents to children in the William and Kate (nee ) Harris Prendergast Family, of Crow Hill, Cappoquin, Co.Waterford. They were 1.Maria Prendergst March 29, 1880, God parents were Catherine Harris and Pat ODonnell 2.Ellen Prendergast August 2, 1884, " Morris Donnell and Bridget Prendergast. 3. James Prendergast Jan 21,1889, " Jacobo Donnell and Maria Hann. He became a Monsignor in Jamestown, Australia. 4. Margaret Prendergast Feb,4 1877, God Parents were Pat Prendergast and Maria Donnall. Other names connected in some way to the Prendergasts were, Michael Hoare, Maria English, Michael Sweeney, Anthony Hurros, Anastatia Morrissey, all from the Cappoquin and Lismore area. One of the Prendergast, Patrick F married Kate Sweeney and they raised a family in South Boston, MA. He and she passed away in the 1960's Do any of these names ring a bell? They had 10 children: John, Brigid, Mary, Patrick, Lawrence, Katherine, Thomas, Ellen, Johanna and William. John, the oldest, also my 2nd great grandfather, was the first of the family to come over about 1880. He came with his siblings Patrick, Kate and Lawrence O'Donnell. They left a red headed sister behind in Ireland. John settled in South Boston, Mass. where he married Margaret A. SHEA 01 September 1882 and raised a family.
