Hi Pam..we're gonna find a link someday! I actually don't have any "MANSFIELDS" that I know of..someone on the list had a marriage to a Prendergast, was it you may who sent me the old photo? This Prendergast group which emigrated to Newfoundland, just blows me away though. It's been my paternal side (CONNORS-KENNEDY) which was Irish newfie and now to find out the possibility that I could have 100% IRISH NEWFIE lines..what a joy! My Ellen Prnedergast married a Reidy and died in 1934 in NYC; so doubt she's the author (darn!) And my Maurice was actually an O'Gorman so that one is out too! However, I will claim them as COUSINS until proven otherwise! I was trying to tie a Michael Prendergast who shows up in EARLY Newfoundland records to the Waterford line but haven't found anything specific yet. I'll have to search google later to check out some of Maurice's Art..I have heard of him but have not checked out any details. I'll be on vacation for the FOURTH, have a great one. Remember 9/11 Joanne! PAM WROTE: HelloJoanne---Can't recall if I wrote asking you if any of your Mansfields included Paulina. She was apparently a very wealthy woman--Mrs.---who owned large tracts of land in the s.e. corner of Kilkenny, 3 miles across the river from Waterford. We can't seem to find anything about her and wonder if she was an absentee landlord living in England. Our grdfthr lived on part of her property, altho there is no mention of her residing on any of it. In 1960 an article was first published in the "Old Kilkenny Review" on a pre-historic burial site at Kilmurry,Slieve Rue, Kilkenny written by Ellen Prendergast. Are you familiar with the artist Maurice Prendergast? His family emigrated to Newfoundland from the Inistioge, Kilkenny area and then moved on to Boston. He is considered one of the fine Ashcan School of Artists in America. Maybe one of your relatives?! A Prendergast is in my line from Inistioge.
