    1. Re: [WATERFORD] Let's try a rollcall PowerFamily
    2. My gr grandfather was Richard R. Power(s) born about 1820 in Ireland. I have found the middle initial of "R" on his Declaration of Intent and his death certificate. His death certificate (1891, Livingston County, New York - informant his wife) indicates that Richard's father's name was Pierce. The DC gives no indication of his mother's name. I don't find Richard in the 1850 census, but he married Elizabeth Rowan in about 1852 in New York;Elizabeth Rowan lived in Arcade/then China, New York. There are a couple of Richard Power(s) on ships lists but can't verify if any are mine. I've been told that, with names like Richard and Pierce, this Power(s) family was probably from Waterford. I know that I have too little info on him to actually get help from any List, but I keep trying. They had 14 children, all born in NY; I have the death certificates for 10 of them - all only show that Richard was born in Ireland. The third son of Richard and Elizabeth was named Pierce, after Richard's father Their third daughter was named after Elizabeth's mother They never named a son after Richard (they had 5 sons) They did name a daughter after Elizabeth They never named a son Dennis, after Elizabeth's father Please double-check subject line & snip your messages when replying.
