Hi All - First time on this list. Request assistance. Per 1856 New Jersey Marr. Record, my g-grandfather, John WHELAN, b.c. 1830, IRE, identified his parents as NICHOLAS WHELAN and Magaret POWER. Through recently released Waterford.rootsireland.ie Church Bapt. Records I have developed the following; 1. Church Baptism PHELAN, John 1832 Co. Waterford, Parish: CLONEA/RATHGORMACK (RC) father: Nicholas Mother: Margaret POWER 2. Church Baptism WHELAN, Margaret 1834 Co. Waterford, Parish: STRADBALLY (RC) father: Nicholas WHELAN Mo: Margaret POWER 3. Church Baptism WHELAN, Patrick 1838 Co. Waterford, Parish: STRADBALLY (RC) father: Nicholas WHELAN Mo: Margaret POWER 4. Church Baptism PHELAN, William 1844 Co. Waterford, Parish: STRADBALLY (RC) father: Nicholas PHELAN Mo: Margaret POWER 5. Church Baptism PHELAN, Mary 1846 Co. Waterford, Parish: STRADBALLY (RC) father: Nicholas PHELAN Mo: Margaret POWER Desirous of ascertaining that the same Nicholas and Margaret (nee Power) are the parents of all the above five (5) Children. I am attempting to establish or disprove that the above (#1.) JOHN PHELAN is, in fact, my g-grandfather, JOHN WHELAN. Any assistance greatly appreciated. I have been working this since JAN 1999. Thank you, Michael B. Whelan (Mike) Windsor Locks, CT, USA
