    3. My greatgrandmother Bridget Harris married Cornelius Lynch in 1865 in Ballyduff, Lismore, Waterford, just before they moved to America and settled in northern Michigan...Bridget's mother was Bridget Long(e) who married Michael Harris, senior...Bridget Long's father Richard Long married Hannah Hill... Hannah's mother, also Anna / Hannah, married a Mr. Hill...Hannah, senior was the daughter of Robin / Robert Bible b. c. 1700. It seems they all lived in Ballyduff, Lismore Parish, Waterford...I have a family record of Robin Bible selling his estate known as "Glenbeg" to a family named Foley c. 1772 in Ballyduff. Robin's wife's name was probably Bridget or " Biddie". She was known as Biddie Bible! Does anyone know the origin of the surname "Bible"? Does anyone know of another person with the Bible surname in Waterford? It seems unlike an Irish name to me... ...also, if you recognize the other names listed above, please let me know! Thanks! 3. Susan Where did your Lynch's from Ballyduff settle in northern Michigan? My William Scanlon g-gf emigrated sometime in the 1850s, probably to Connecticut, were in Grass Valley, California (hydraulic gold mining) between early 1860's til about 1869, came back to the copper mines of Houghton, Michigan on the UP and then by 1875 were in Negaunee, in Marquette County, Michigan, as an Iron Ore Miner. Were you ever in contact with William Lane of Ballyduff who attempted to trace all the Ballyduff emigrants? Unfortunately he died 8-10 years ago and attempts to find his research papers were not successful.
