Thank you. I had never heard of that before and did not know nicknames were used. The Thomas Phelan who was a baker in Waterford was born in the Carrick on Suir area. I don't know if it was the same Phelan bakery in the 1940-1950 time but I will ask and see what I can find out. One of the elderly Phelan family members is still alive and has memories of that bakery. Also James - My Thomas Phelan born 1844 Carrick on Suir was married to Ellen Power and my other 4th grandfather Michael Morrissey was married to Catherine Power.
