I'm trying to trace the descendants of Martin and Mary (Murphy) Walsh. In 1911 Martin (75) and Mary (69) were living at House no.11 in Bawnfune (Killoteran, Waterford). We will be visiting Ireland this summer and would like to meet relatives if they are in the area. Mary had a sister, Johanna, the widow of a Mr. Power, who was living in Kilmeaden in 1911. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I should proceed. Sincerely, Arthur Rotondi
May I suggest that you perhaps pull up online the local Newspaper for the area and perhaps post a small advert saying you will be in Waterford and would like to contact relatives. Another thing to do perhaps is also look at the Golden Pages online for Ireland see if there are any of these folk in the area still. And again, perhaps just a stroll to the parish church and speak to someone there But mostly I would also pull up online the Waterford Library and ask them to post your request that you will be visiting their library at a given time, and would like to meet anyone that thinks they may be related to these people, with a view to simply having a chat, perhaps if you stress it as a simple affair you may get some contact with your relatives. That is my pennies worth petal, unless you would like to sit down with me in Waterford for a chat in the summer, Cheers Cara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Arthur Rotondi" <arotond@yahoo.com> To: <WATERFORD@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 21, 2010 7:08 AM Subject: [WATERFORD] WALSH GENEALOGY I'm trying to trace the descendants of Martin and Mary (Murphy) Walsh.
