List, Does anybody have connection to the Naven, Cooney, Crotty, Somers surnames in the Stradbally area? I was seeking Naven data and got lucky with an obituary. My gg grandfather James Crotty was a pallbearer at Ellen Naven Somers funeral in 1901. James' mother was Johanna Naven Crotty. Ellen Naven Somers lists her parents as Patrick and Johanna Cooney Naven. Ellen was the wife of Edmund Somers, most of their children were born in Waterford. Son of Ellen and Edmund, Patrick Somers, applied for a passport and listed place of birth as Stradbally, County Waterford. Another son also listed Stradbally as his birthplace. I'm pretty sure my ggg grandmother Johanna Naven Crotty and Ellen Naven Somers were sisters. The second oldest Crotty daughter is Johanna, possibly after Johanna Cooney Naven. A Crotty grandson was also a pallbearer on the Somers obit. All lived in Worcester, MA. The Navens and Cooneys are fairly new surnames for me and Stradbally is a very new town for my many Waterford ancestors. I'd appreciate any pointers. Also does anybody know if Waterford has any plans for joining some of the other counties and putting their records(Baptism/Marriage) online at sites such as IFHF? Thanks for any help. Helen
