    1. [WATERFORD] Off-topic Saturday's trip

    3. I thought I might tell you a little about Saturday's Senior Citizen's trip and offer a few other bits. We had 64 people signed up for the trip, and a great deal at 25 Euro per person. We took off from Lattin, Co. Tipperary and went first to a tearoom at a fab plant nursery in Clonmel and had morning tea and scones - very nice scones. We got to meander among the flowers for a while and then left for Dunmore East on the other side of Waterford. Tramore is the next place over on the coast and I had been there twice before, so Dunmore East was a nice change, and a very nice place it is with more going on than in Tramore. We had lunch at The Strand with a choice of roast beef, seafood pie or Lemon Sole. Everyone raved about the choice they had made. I had the seafood pie and it was the best I have ever eaten anywhere with lots of cream and a bit of Vermouth in the sauce. Dessert was a choice of ice cream or strawberries and cream, and I opted for the latter not realizing they would give me the equivilent of a whole basket of strawberries to eat. To spite them I ate them all. Then some of us went back to Waterford City for "shopping" and I went to get answers to Helen's question. Then back to Dunmore East to pick up the rest and then back to Lattin, Co. Tipperary. The weather was gorgeous the whole day. The trip was 12 hours and my whole day 18 hours, which I find is a now getting to be bit much for a 67 year old woman. 3. Janet, It sounds like a lovely trip but I feel guilty because you missed out on shopping. I hope you didn't miss any bargains! What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday. 3. No, Helen, I didn't miss out on shopping as I made it into the book stores looking for books on Waterford. Unfortunately the three I would have wanted were waaaay beyond my current budget. Maybe next month. Janet On Sun, Jul 4, 2010 at 8:16 PM, Helen <hdipilato@comcast.net> wrote: > Janet, > > It sounds like a lovely trip but I feel guilty because you missed out on > shopping.
