Hello All, In March 2008 Sean O'Brien of this List kindly answered my call and took some photographs in the Protestant Cemetery, C of I., Annestown of my ancestor THOMAS E TRISTRAM's grave. Unfortunately, I have had a computer crash since then and these photographs are missing. These are the particulars of what Sean found and I was wondering whether anyone lives closeby Annestown and would be able to re-photograph the "cross" once more. I have tried to contact Sean on his 2008 email without success and would very much appreciate it, if someone could help. "Thomas E. Tristram, marked by a simple white cross and with stone surround. The inscription reads:- Thomas E. Tristram Born 1811 Died 1903 There is a very brief biblical quotation at the base, which was difficult to read because of grass and very inclement weather. There MAY have been a Blackburn headstone nearby. " As I live in Australia I have to rely on the generosity of those in Waterford. Thomas E Tristram was staying with the Blackburn family at the time of his death. Any help very much appreciated. Thank you, Robyn Clarke N.S.W.
Thre's a lesson for everyone here. Buy an external hard-drive or USB drive and back-up your files regularly. I do mine every week to avoid having to waste time re-creating all the documents I could lose with a crash, fire, theft etc. Make sure you keep the back-up away from your computer eg, work, car. Not much point seeing them both go up in smoke if your house catches on fire. Hello Roger, Yes, the lesson was learned the hard way. I now have three hard drives, two internal and one external, plus a USB drive, not all in the house. I hope I'm covered.....for any future problems.
