Maureen, I have used the FHC for many films but I seem to have trouble with church registers, specifically Catholic registers. I know folks who have gotten them for Meath and Westmeath back into the 1700's. I did try to get a Waterford film that was blocked. My problem is I think I'm using the wrong search parameters in the LDS catalog. I can't seem to find much in the way of parochial registers from Waterford, Tipperary, Cork or Kerry. I must be searching incorrectly if others have found Meath, Westmeath yet I cannot seem to get even 1 of my counties. I seem to get more hits than I can deal with or nothing when I search. I'd love to order films if I could just get the correct film numbers. Any hints on how to narrow my searches to just Catholic Parish Registers for the above mentioned counties? I'd appreciate any pointers as I'm obviously doing something wrong when I search.
